Cement Extruder for Robotic and Large-Format 3D Printing
Our cement extruder is designed for reliable extrusion of standard cementitious mixes, fiber-reinforced cement, recycled-material blends, and select earthen or organic material systems. With proper screening, hydration, and mix development, the platform can also support clay-based, soil-based, adobe-style, lime-based, bio-composite, and other paste-like materials used in experimental construction, sculpture, and sustainable fabrication.
Developed through extensive in-house testing with recycled aggregate, fiber, and lightweight filler systems, this extrusion platform is built for researchers, fabricators, and advanced manufacturing teams working with printable mortar, cement-based materials, and alternative paste-extrusion workflows.
The system uses a stainless steel body with a 4-inch-wide material barrel and an internal auger designed to move material downward into a controlled mixing and extrusion chamber. Integrated pin mixers and paddle agitation inside the auger help keep cementitious material active, reducing settling and improving consistency during operation. A built-in vibration system supports smoother material flow, helping dense or fiber-filled mixes feed more reliably through the barrel.
At the lower chamber, the extruder can be configured for accelerant or colorant injection, allowing users to tune set time, bead appearance, or multi-stage material behavior closer to the nozzle. A custom-designed final mixing section helps complete blending before extrusion, supporting cleaner bead formation and more consistent output.
The extruder can be manually fed for lab-scale testing, small-batch material development, or direct experimental printing. For automated production workflows, it can also be paired with our tube adapter for pump-fed operation.
A high-torque NEMA 34 motor and precision 10:1 planetary gearbox provide the drive strength needed for demanding cement extrusion work. This motor system was selected to handle high-resistance mixes, including fiber-reinforced and recycled-material cement blends, while maintaining controlled material delivery.
Nozzle options range from 5 mm to 50 mm, making the system adaptable for fine bead testing, prototype components, robotic deposition, sculptural elements, and larger-format cement printing.
The extruder is designed for practical daily use: it can be easily disassembled after operation for cleaning, inspection, and maintenance. Mounting hardware is included for integration with robotic arms, gantry systems, test stands, and custom fabrication platforms.
